Requirements/What to bring
Juno award winning musician Hugh Johnston has been music director, vocal director and sometime composer and orchestrator for over 30 musical theatre productions in eastern Ontario, the Toronto area and New Brunswick. He is also a distinguished conductor and music educator having directed ensembles at Carnegie Hall, Orchestra Hall in Chicago and Cadogan Hall in London. Hugh has twice attended the Broadway Teacher’s Workshop in New York City participating in seminars with distinguished Broadway actors, directors and musicians such as: Andy Blankenbuehler, Lawrence O’Keefe and Christian Borle. Having been involved in music and theatre for most of his life Hugh has music and education degrees from Queen’s University and the University of London, England and he also studied conducting at the University of Calgary. Mr. Johnston won a Juno Award as Musicounts Teacher of the year in 2012.
