Printmaking: Introduction into Linocut

Workshop Description:

Linocut printmaking is a fun and accessible printing medium for all ages and levels of experience. In this 2 hour workshop, you will learn how to design, carve and hand-print your own linocut and create a limited edition print. This workshop is designed to demonstrate a minimal setup that will enable you to create linocut prints from your home. All materials will be supplied; just bring yourself and a shirt you wouldn’t mind getting a little bit of ink on!

Jill Glatt

Jill Glatt is a printmaker, illustrator, and intermediate/senior teacher candidate at Queen's Faculty of Education. Her passions are experiential learning, art, and the natural world. The two main focuses for her artistic practice are creating pieces inspired by Ontario's natural geography, and sharing her knowledge with others. She has been consistently honing her printmaking craft for three years now, and has trained under the printmaking instructors at the University of Western Ontario, where she completed her undergraduate degree. She specialises in linocut printmaking, but is also formally trained in silkscreen printing and intaglio.
