Workshop Description

Dance 8-10  

A fun musical theatre style dance class where we will be learning choreography to the song “The Greatest Show” from the spectacular film “The Greatest Showman”. This will be a fun and relaxed video designed to get your body moving and your face smiling. This combo is designed for children ages 8-10 with some dance experience but ALL ARE WELCOME TO COME AND DANCE! 

Dance 10-13  

A high energy musical theatre style dance class where we will be learning choreography to the song “Come Alive”  from the spectacular film “The Greatest Showman”. This will be a fun big energy video designed to get your body moving, your toes pointing, and your face smiling. This combo is designed or children ages 10-13 with dance experience but ALL ARE WELCOME TO COME AND DANCE!  

Acting/Storytelling 8-10

Ready to read a story! In this workshop, we will be reading and learning a basic fairytale and by exploring musicality and self-made sound effects we will transform it into a theatrical performance! If you love Princesses, Dragons, silly Princes and telling an exciting story then this workshop is or you! This workshop is designed for students ages 8-10 but all are welcome!   

Acting/Musicality 10-13

 In this workshop, we will be exploring basic acting exercises to get you into the actor’s mindset. We will learn how to warm up our face and voice properly and dive into short activities that work on developing musicality, listening, and basic improv skills. This will be a fun intro to actor designed for children ages 10-13 but all are welcome!

Requirements/Materials Needed

Just space where they can move and for the acting workshops a place where they can make sound and be loud. 

Abby Skene

Abby Skene is a theatre maker and dancer from Ottawa. Abby has been dancing and acting since she was 4 years old and is passionate about theatre for young audiences and making theatre and dance accessible and exciting for artists of all ages. She has just finished her Drama degree at Queen’s University and will be attending teachers’ college here in Kingston this fall. Abby loves to be silly and have fun so join her for four fun and exciting workshops and try something new!
