The Juvenis Festival

What is Juvenis?

The Juvenis Festival is a project of Blue Canoe Theatrical that began in 2016. Juvenis isKingston's Youth Arts Festival, one of only two youth arts festivals in all of Canada! Juvenis showcases the talented #ygkyouth ages 30 and under.

This 11day-long festival gives young people an opportunity to act, sing, dance, perform, and showcase their artistic talents, as well as take free workshops and masterclasses to build on their interests and skills in the arts. Everyone involved in this festival is under the age of 30, including all paid staff positions and participants. While our workshops are only open to youth, we invite audience members of all ages to take in Juvenis productions and events!

This Year's Festival...

Juvenis 2021 will take place from April 28th until May 8th. Because of the ongoing pandemic, the festival will be a hybrid of both online and in-person. Workshops, performances and events will either be online or in-person with contact tracing, social distancing, limited audience capacity and contact tracing.

April 28th-May 8th 2021

Even though this year's festival may look different, you can still expect the same level of opportunities as previous years! You can get involved by attending our 18 FREE workshops, watching a performance online or in-person, or even volunteering. Ticket sales and workshop registration will open on April 1st, so follow us on social media to stay up to date!
