In this workshop, singer/songwriter Sean Patterson will walk participants through an in-depth writing process, highlighting the tools, principles, and decision-making that goes into creating a great song. Presented through an audio/visual breakdown, ‘Anatomy of a Song’ will reveal the building blocks and sparks of inspiration that guide us in our craft, and will focus on the exact process, from start to finish, that artists can go through to bring their music to life and take theirsongwriting to the next level.
After picking up the guitar in 2007, Sean Patterson’s career as a singer/songwriter began in earnest on the curbs of downtown Kingston, where he spent his summers busking and honing his craft as a performer. After several years as a solo acoustic artist, Sean joined the indie-rock band Oakridge Ave. in 2015, with whom he’s been writing, recording, and touring ever since. Oakridge Ave. has written and released an EP and a full-length album in 2020, and are currently recording their second LP with JUNO award winner Hawksley Workman, set to be released in2023.
