Performance Techniques Workshop

Find out all you need to know about how to put your best foot forward on stage! Whether you want to audition for a local production, act, sing, perform poetry at your high school talent night or busk on your street corner this workshop will give you the tools to make the most out of your performance and leave your audience wanting more. Participants will learn about vocal health, projection, stage presence and other aspects of performance via different activities, exercises, one on one coaching and of course a few games! This workshop will also feature an optional performance portion at the end for participants who would like to workshop a particular piece or number with the instructors.

Please bring along the music, monologue, poem, or other material that you are looking to perform so that you can practice your piece in this workshop. Piano accompaniment will be available.

Saturday March 4, 3:00pm-5:30pm
Saturday April 15, 6:00pm- 8:30pm
Saturday May 6, **new time**3:00pm- 4:30pm
Final workshop to be held in June* date TBA

Where: Kingston Community House, 99 York Street

Performance Techniques will be taught by Blue Canoe Alumni Ryan Cowl and Maddy Schaefer Scovil. Ryan and Maddy are Music & Drama Bachelor Degree holders respectively and are currently completing their Concurrent Education degrees.
