Description

"Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent." Join Certified Music Therapist Kimberly Dolan in an introduction to the benefits of using music for wellness, the field of music therapy, and career opportunities within the creative arts therapies. This workshop is a combination of in-service and experiential where you will gain insight into the world of music therapy as well as have the opportunity to engage in music together. No previous knowledge or skills are required, all are welcome!

Kimberly Dolan, BA, MMT, MTA, NMT, RP(Q)

Kimberly Dolan (she/her) is a Certified Music Therapist, Neurologic Music Therapist, co-founder of Synergy Music Therapy & Wellness Services, Arts Administrator, and singer-songwriter based in Kingston, Ontario. Kim completed her Bachelor of Arts (Honours BA) in Psychology and Master of Music Therapy (MMT) from Wilfrid Laurier University, has completed her level 1 Guided Imagery in Music (GIM) training, and is in the process of registering as psychotherapist (RP).

Kimberly's main instrument is voice and she also holds experience with guitar and piano. She works with many people of varying goals, needs, and walks of life, but her main area of focus is within the realm of mental health care, supporting people of all ages in living a fulfilled and healthy life.

Outside of her clinical practice, Kimberly is passionate about advocacy of the field of Music Therapy. She is energized by engaging in discussion with her community and shining a light on the benefits and application in the field.

Synergy Music Therapy & Wellness

Synergy Music Therapy & Wellness Services was co-founded in June 2021 by board-certified music therapists Hayley Francis Cann and Kimberly Dolan. Now offering services in two locations (Bermuda & Kingston, ON), Synergy provides high quality music therapy services, wellness resources, and professional development opportunities for music therapists, interdisciplinary professionals and community members.
