Zoey Roy

She's just one of those firecrackers, ya know? Zoey 'Pricelys' Roy is a poet. A celebrated artist, Zoey has been featured on stages around the world including the Calgary Folk Music Festival where she opened for Sheila E; BIGSOUND - Australia's largest music festival; and the Unsilent Project where she went on tour with a 94 piece orchestra. She is a dynamic speaker with a story to tell. Zoey has spoken on stages worldwide, including We Day; the United Nations; and the Walrus Talks about humanizing ourselves through the turbulence of ongoing settler colonialism. Zoey merges her passion with poetry and performance with her passion for learning. She is currently in a PhD in Education program at York University and holds a Bachelor's of Education and a Master's of Public Policy from the University of Saskatchewan. Some stellar awards she's received are the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal, the Indspire Award, and 2nd place in an oratory competition when she was in grade 2. Zoey is an advocate and uses the knowledge and life experience she has to create something good for the world around her. Look out for Zoey's upcoming projects MADE UP - her debut rap album and Zoetry - a collection of hip hop music and spoken word albums and a live show that transcends audiences into the realm of a full-on poetic intervention on the raw human spirit through an intimate one-woman performance.
